How it Works: Xcel Energy customers can now join the renewable energy movement by supporting nearby solar gardens, all without the hassle of installing solar panels on their homes or businesses.

The Solar*Rewards Community program, the largest of its kind in the nation, allows you to subscribe to a nearby, third-party community solar garden.

Upon subscribing, you will start receiving credits on your monthly utility bill for the solar energy your subscription contributes to Xcel’s Energy grid.

The energy your portion of the plot generates directly displaces energy produced from fossil fuels, contributing to a cleaner, more sustainable power grid.

Eligibility: You must be an Xcel Energy residential or business electricity customer.

Getting Started:

Step 1 – Find a Solar Garden Operator. To participate, you will need to work directly with a solar garden operator. The solar garden you subscribe to will manage your participation and provide Xcel with the necessary information to ensure you receive the correct discount on your bill based on the amount of clean energy your portion of the plot contributes to Xcel's grid.

Step 2 – Receiving Your Bill Credits. You will receive a Solar*Rewards Community production bill credit on your monthly bill. Your total electric use will be billed as usual, and the production credit will be applied against it.
